RETAIL REVOLUTION // a unique podcast originally created for "Retailing and Service Design,” a course that is part of the Fashion Management graduate program at Parsons School of Design in New York City. Each episode features in-depth conversations with guest experts in omni-channel retailing with myriad perspectives: technology, consumer engagement, data analytics, merchandising and more. We pay special attention to current socio-political issues and challenges and their implications on fashion retail, as well as opportunities to innovate and rethink retail's future.

Christopher Lacy, Host

Christopher Lacy is a strategic customer experience, and operations executive who has worked across multiple markets in the US including New York, Los Angeles, and Dallas over the last 20 years. Throughout the course of his career he has managed and strategized for businesses such as Armani, Hugo Boss, Donna Karan, Omega, Zilli and Gucci. Most recently, Christopher leveraged his expertise to evolve the business and client engagement at Barneys New York as the Director of Customer Experience, Learning and Strategy. He was a Chairperson for the Barneys New York Foundation with an objective to support key causes in LGBT, education and the arts. Currently, Christopher supports RuiRu Rising, Native Son Now, and New Alternatives; organizations that focus on the enhancement of education in Kenya, the empowerment of gay men of color and support for teens who are in the process of transitioning. Christopher is the founder and owner of Christopher Lacy Consulting, a business committed to assisting companies build and execute training initiatives and client development strategies that improve external and internal customer journeys. He has developed curriculum for the Parsons Executive Global Leadership Team as well as conducted lectures and workshops at Polimoda.

Joshua Williams, Producer

Joshua is an experienced fashion creative director, business executive and educator. He is proud of his ability to equally balance the creative and business needs of a company and believes that developing integrated cross-departmental solutions, systems and teams, are essential to the success of a brand. As a omni-channel retailing and marketing expert, Joshua is particularly adept at negotiating the complex needs of a brand’s sales distribution strategy across multiple platforms, ensuring optimal and authentic customer engagement and coordinated marketing support. This necessitates a deep understanding of the fashion global supply chain, emerging technologies and an ever changing marketplace.


Joshua served as Director of Corporate Branding and Online Retailing at J.McLaughlin, an American retail brand, and as Vice President of Marketing of Lindsay Phillips, a footwear start-up. Joshua has taught as an adjunct professor at the Fashion Institute of Technology since 2008, responsible for three graduate level courses for the Global Fashion Management (MPS) and Fashion Design (MFA) programs. He was the host of the weekly lecture series, Faces & Places in Fashion, featuring iconic fashion innovators.

Joshua is currently an Assistant Professor at Parsons School of Design in the Fashion Management graduate program. He is also founder and active partner at Fashion Consort, a high-level consulting agency that specializes in integrative brand and business building, operational and systems development and strategic consumer engagement. Clients have included Anne Valerie Hash, JM, Adornia, Jude Connally, Andrew Marc and See.7 magazine. He is a regular guest speaker on television at events worldwide.
